Pandit Neki Ram Sharma Government Medical College, Bhiwani, was envisioned to expand medical education and healthcare services in Haryana. The foundation stone of the college was laid in July 2017, marking the beginning of a landmark project for the region.
The institution is named in honour of Pandit Neki Ram Sharma, a prominent freedom fighter from Haryana, whose life of sacrifice and service to the nation continues to inspire generations. By bearing his name, the college strives to instil values of integrity, dedication, and compassion in every student.
Over the years, the campus has taken shape with modern academic blocks, laboratories, lecture theatres, libraries, residential quarters, and hostels. At its heart stands a 620 bedded teaching hospital, designed to deliver comprehensive healthcare to the community while also serving as the clinical training hub for medical students.
At the beginning of 2025, the Outpatient Department (OPD) services were launched, opening the institution's doors to the public and allowing it to begin serving the community even before academic sessions commenced.
A historic milestone was achieved in September 2025, when the National Medical Commission granted approval for the MBBS program with 100 seats for the academic year 2025-26. With this, the college welcomes its first batch of students, embarking on a journey to shape competent, compassionate doctors and contribute meaningfully to healthcare delivery.
From its inception to becoming a fully operational institution, Pandit Neki Ram Sharma Government Medical College stands as a symbol of progress, service, and commitment, dedicated to both educating the healers of tomorrow and improving the health of society today.
